Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon Census Area, Alaska has a population that is made up of 58.6 percent White, 0.2 percent African American, 0.1 percent Asian, and 4.1 percent Hispanic. The population mix can be considered to have a very modest level of diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, with 4.4 percent of minorities in the 2005 population base. This is less than the State of Alaska percent of 12.9. Since 2000, Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon has increased in diversity when 2.9 percent of the people were minorities.
