Higher Education in Union County, Arkansas

In Union County, Arkansas according to the Decennial Census of 2000, 18.6 percent of the White Alone, 5.6 percent of Black or African American, 46.4 percent of the Asian alone and 8.6 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved a Bachelors Degree or Higher.

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Union County, Arkansas, the largest educational attainment category for men is the High School Diploma category, with 36.4 percent reaching this education level. The female population in Union have on average achieved a lower level of higher education (Bachelors Degree or Higher) than the male population-- 16 percent (Men) versus 14 percent (Women). Many of the women in the area achieving a High School Diploma, with 34.8 percent of the female population achieving this education level.

Union County, Arkansas has a moderately-educated population of the working age, with 14.8 percent of the population over 25 years old having received at least a Bachelors Degree, according to the Decennial Census of 2000.
