Income and Poverty in Washington County, Arkansas

The rate of poverty in Washington County, Arkansas has increased by 1.1 percent since the 2000 rates, moving from 14.6 percent to 15.7 percent.

While the median household income saw a decline since 2000 in Washington County, Arkansas, the Race/Ethnicity group that went through the most dramatic decline in household income was the Black or African American category. Higher Education in Washington County, Arkansas

Washington County, Arkansas may to understood as having a highly-educated population of the working age, with 24.6 percent of the population (+25) having received a BA or higher, as reported the 2000 Decennial Census. Washington was reported to have a higher percent of the population with at least a Bachelors than the State of Arkansas's proportion of 16.6 percent and a higher percent than United States proportion of 24.4 percent.
