Mohave County Five-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Misc. durable goods merchant wholesalers industry has lost the largest amount of employment in terms of percentage, losing 73.3 percent from 2001 (Q2) to 2006 (Q2). The losses of the area have declined faster than the industry has experienced in the State of Arizona, where the industry sector experienced a gain of 12.5 percent. The losses in the Misc. durable goods merchant wholesalers industry in Mohave County outpaced the United States industry losses overall. During this period, the United States gained 6.4 percent in terms of employees in the Misc. durable goods merchant wholesalers industry.

Income and Poverty in Mohave County, Arizona

The poverty rate in Mohave County, Arizona has increased by 1.4 percent since the amounts published in 2000, moving from 13.9 percent to 15.3 percent.

Mohave County, Arizona has a population that is made up of 82.2 percent White, 0.8 percent African American, 0.9 percent Asian, and 12.9 percent Hispanic. This area can be considered to have a modest amount of racial and ethnic diversity, with 14.6 percent of the population made up of minorities. This is less than the State of Arizona percent of 33.7.
