Higher Education in Bradford County, Florida

In Bradford County, Florida according to the Decennial Census of 2000, 10 percent of the White Alone, 2.2 percent of Black or African American, 30.4 percent of the Asian alone and 5.4 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved a Bachelors Degree or Higher.

Bradford County, Florida is made up of a less-educated working age population, with 8.4 percent of the population over 25 years old having received at least a Bachelors Degree, according to the Decennial Census of 2000. Bradford counted a lower percent of highly educated individuals than the State of Florida's proportion of 22.4 percent and a lower percent than the average across the nation of 24.4 percent.

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Bradford County, Florida, the most common level of education achieved in the area for the male population is the High School Diploma category, with 40 percent obtaining this level of education. The women in Bradford on average have achieved a greater level of higher education (Bachelors or Higher) than men -- 7.6 percent (Men) versus 9.4 percent (Women). Many of the women in the area achieving a High School Diploma, with 40.4 percent of the areas female population attaining this level of education.
