Income and Poverty in Bay County, Florida

In Bay County, Florida White householders had a median income (2005 Dollars) of $43,751 as reported in 2000 by the census, which was 3.6 percent greater than the median household income in 2000. Black or African American householders reported a median household income that was 32.6 percent less than the total 2000 reported median, with a their median reported to be $28,477. Bay County, Florida may to understood as having a moderately-educated working age population, with 17.6 percent of the over 25 years old population having a Bachelors Degree or Higher, according to the 2000 Decennial Census. Bay is reported having a lower percent of the population with at least a Bachelors than the State of Florida's proportion of 22.4 percent and a lower percent than United States proportion of 24.4 percent.

Bay County, Florida had an estimated population of 161,558 in the year 2005. The population has increased sharply, since the 2000 total population of 148,252. This growth signifies an increase of 9 percent.
