Employment for all industries has increased by 40.9 percent since the 2nd Quarter figures of 2001. This change is greater than growth in Georgia, experiencing a gain of 3.3 percent since the 2nd Quarter of 2001. The gains in the area were greater than than the gain experienced overall in the US of 2.6 percent.

Income and Poverty in Barrow County, Georgia

It was reported in 2000 that the Asian headed households had median household incomes of $50,625. This income level is 3.9 percent less than the all households reported median in the area. The U.S. Census Bureau, in the year 2005, estimated a median age in Barrow County, Georgia to be 32.4 years of age. The median in Barrow is less than the median age in the State of Georgia of 34.3. From 2000, the area has seen a decline in the median, when the median age was 32.5 years of age. With a total of 27.3 percent of the population in 2005 being comprised of children and youth younger than 18, Barrow can be understood as being made up of a relatively high percent of people under 18.
