Total industry employment has decreased by 19 percent from 2001 (2nd Quarter). Echols County, Georgia can be considered to have a less-educated population, with 8.4 percent of the population over 25 years old having received at least a Bachelors Degree, according to the Decennial Census of 2000. Echols counted a lower percent of individuals with higher educations than the State of Georgia's proportion of 24.2 percent and a lower percent than the US proportion of 24.4 percent.
