Income and Poverty in Marion County, Iowa

Black or African American householders reported a median household income that was 59.3 percent less than the overall median reported in 2000, with a reported median of $20,183. The American Indian and Alaska Native headed households in Marion County had a median income of $42,705, this level was 13.9 percent less than the areas median level for all households. In Marion County, Iowa White householders had a median income (2005 Dollars) of $49,750 as reported by the Decennial Census of 2000, which was 0.3 percent greater than the median in 2000.
