Monroe County Five-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Full-service restaurants industry has lost the biggest percent of jobs, losing 25.5 percent from 2001 (2nd Quarter) to 2006 (2nd Quarter). The losses in the Misc. nondurable goods merchant wholesalers industry in Monroe County outpaced the United States industry losses overall. During this period, the United States gained 0.2 in percent of workers in the Misc. nondurable goods merchant wholesalers industry.

Income and Poverty in Monroe County, Iowa

In terms of total land area, Monroe encompasses a total area of 433 square miles. This area has a very low density of 18 persons per square mile, in 2005.
