In Lemhi County, Idaho as reported in the 2000 Census, 18 percent of the White Alone, . percent of Black or African American, 100 percent of the Asian alone and 11.6 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved at least a Bachelors Degree.

Lemhi County, Idaho can be considered to have a moderately-educated 2000 population, with 17.8 percent of the population over 25 years old having received at least a Bachelors Degree, according to the Decennial Census of 2000. Lemhi was reported to have a lower percent of highly educated individuals than the State of Idaho's proportion of 21.6 percent and a lower percent than United States proportion of 24.4 percent.

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Lemhi County, Idaho, the most common level of education achieved in the area for the male population is the High School Diploma category, with 31.4 percent achieving this level. The population division of the Census Bureau estimates in 2005 a median age in Lemhi County, Idaho to be 45.0 years old. The median in Lemhi is greater than the median age for the State of Idaho of 34.6. Since the year 2000, the area has witnessed an increase in the median age, at that time the median was 42.7 years old.
