The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Greene County, Illinois, the largest educational attainment category for men is the High School Diploma category, with 48.2 percent achieving this level. In terms of total land area, Greene spans a total area of 543 square miles. The county has a low density of 27 persons per square mile.
