Demographic Profile for Carlton County, Minnesota

Carlton County, Minnesota has a population that is comprised of 91 percent White, 1.2 percent African American, 0.4 percent Asian, and 1 percent Hispanic. The area can be described as having a very modest level of racial and ethnic diversity, with 2.6 percent of the population being minorities. This is less than the State of Minnesota percent of 11.2. Since 2000, Carlton has increased the percent of minority makeup when 2.2 percent of the total population were minorities.

Carlton County, Minnesota had a population that was estimated at 34,026 in 2005. The total population has increased sharply, from the population in the year 2000 of 31,726.
