Jackson County Industry Wages Lag Behind Minnesota, and Wages Lag Behind the United States

Jackson County Five-Year Industry Employment Change

The total number of jobs has increased by 18.1 percent since the 2nd Quarter figures of 2001. This change is greater than growth in the State of Minnesota, experiencing a gain of 2.5 percent since 2001 ( 2nd Quarter). The gains felt were greater than than the gain seen for the United States of 2.6 percent.

The Building foundation and exterior contractors industry has lost the largest amount of employment in terms of percentage, losing 51.4 percent of the jobs from the 2nd quarter of 2001 to 2nd quarter of 2006. The losses of the area have declined faster than the industry sector has gone through in the Minnesota, where the industry sector experienced a gain of 7.1 percent. The losses in the Building foundation and exterior contractors industry in Jackson County outpaced the US in terms of percent of decline of industry employment.
