Total industry employment has decreased by 9.9 percent since the 2nd Quarter figures of 2001. This change is greater than growth in Mississippi, which went through a gain of 0.2 percent from the 2nd Quarter of 2001. The losses were greater than than the gain seen for the United States of 2.6 percent.

Income and Poverty in Prentiss County, Mississippi

Black or African American headed households had a median household income that was 27.5 percent less than the overall reported level in 2000, with a reported median of $24,116. The households that were headed by an American Indian and Alaska Native individual in Prentiss County reported an income level of $11,212, this level was 66.3 percent less than the median level for total households in the area.
