Income and Poverty in Chatham County, North Carolina

Estimated since the year 2000, a very high number of individuals have migrated to Chatham internationally. The international migration into Chatham accounts for 1.3 percent of the total international migration into the State of North Carolina. This level of international migration can be considered very high when analyzed against immigration per population in 2005.

Real estate and rental and leasing is the industry that has seen the largest increase in jobs from the year 2001 to the present in Chatham County, with an employment growth of 75.4 percent. This is greater than the change of total jobs in the industry for the United States of 4.3 percent.
