Income and Poverty in Warren County, New Jersey

The median household income in the area has declined from the inflation-adjusted values in 2000. The income level has decreased to $60,825, posting a 7.3 percent decline. Warren County, New Jersey, in terms of percentage of decline, ranks 2 of 17 counties in percent of decline for household income in New Jersey. Higher Education in Warren County, New Jersey

Warren County, New Jersey has a highly-educated population, with 24.4 percent of the population (+25) having received at least a Bachelors Degree, as reported in the Decennial Census of 2000. Warren has a lower percent of the population with at least a Bachelors than the State of New Jersey's proportion of 29.8 percent and a lower percent than United States proportion of 24.4 percent.

From 2000, Warren has increased in the total percent of the over 25 population having a Bachelors Degree or Higher. This population group has grown by 0.6 percent to a total of 25 percent in 2005, according to the American Community Survey. The 2005 proportion of highly educated population is less than the State of New Jersey percent of 34.2 and less than the average US percent of 27.2.

From the years 2000 to 2005, the proportion of the male population that could be considered highly educated has decreased by 0.2 percent. In the year 2005, 25.8 percent of area's male population, over the age 25, achieved a Bachelors Degree or Higher. At the same time, the percent of women, over the age 25, holding at least a Bachelors Degree has increased by a total of 1.2 percent. By 2005, a total of 24.2 percent of the female population had achieved this level of education.

When measuring the total land area, Warren extends a total area of 358 total square miles. The area has a medium-high average area density of 308 persons per square mile, in 2005. Administrative and waste services is the industry with the largest change in employment since the year 2001 in Warren County, increasing by 62.8 percent.
