Income and Poverty in Sierra County, New Mexico

Black or African American headed households had a median household income that was 12 percent less than the all population median published in the 2000 Census, with a median of $24,863. The Asian headed households reported median household incomes of $42,413. This income level is 50.1 percent greater than the reported median household income for all households in the area. Hispanic in Sierra County, New Mexico reported a median household income of $25,297, this median is 10.5 percent less than the areas median income level for all households. The American Indian and Alaska Native headed households in Sierra County reported a median household income of $13,393, which was 52.6 percent less than the median for all households.
