Cibola County One-Year Industry Employment Change

The total number of jobs has increased by 2.9 percent since the 2nd Quarter figures of 2005. This change is less than percent in the State of New Mexico, which went through a gain of 4.5 percent since 2005 ( 2nd Quarter). The gains were greater than than the gain experienced overall in the US of 2.0 percent.

The losses in the Consumer goods rental industry in Cibola County outpaced the United States in terms of percentage decline of industry employment. Income and Poverty in Cibola County, New Mexico

Higher Education in Cibola County, New Mexico

In 2000, the Census reported that in Cibola County, New Mexico, a high proportion of the male population in the area have reached the High School Diploma category, with 38 percent achieving this level. The female population in Cibola have achieved a greater level of higher education (Bachelors Degree or Higher) than the male population-- 11.8 percent (Men) versus 12.2 percent (Women). The most common level of education for women in the area is High School Diploma category, with 35.4 percent of the female population achieving this education level.

Cibola County, New Mexico has a population that is comprised of 24.4 percent White, 1.3 percent African American, 0.4 percent Asian, and 33.4 percent Hispanic. This area can be considered to have a high level of diversity, with 35.1 percent of the population being minorities. This is less than the State of New Mexico percent of 46.4. Since 2000, Cibola has increased the percent of minority makeup when 34.8 percent of the total population were minorities.
