Income and Poverty in Lincoln County, New Mexico

According to the 2000 Decennial Census in Lincoln County, New Mexico, a high proportion of the male population in the area have reached the Some College or Associates Degree category, with 31.2 percent achieving this level. In 2005, the Census Bureau estimated the median age in Lincoln County, New Mexico to be 45.1 years of age. The median in Lincoln is greater than the median age in the State of New Mexico of 36.2. Since the year 2000, the area has seen an increase in this median, when at that time it was 44.0 years old. With 20.4 percent of the 2005 population being comprised of individuals under the age of 18, Lincoln can be described as being made up of a medium-low percent of people under 18. The 18 to 64 years old population group has a medium-low presence of the population, with 61 percent of the population within the age category. People 65 years old and older make up 18.6 percent of the population in the area.
