In Quay County, jobs in the power generation and supply pay the highest wages

Income and Poverty in Quay County, New Mexico

Black or African American headed households had median income levels that were 15.8 percent greater than the overall median reported in 2000, with a reported median of $33,718. The Asian householders in the area have reported their median household incomes at $73,752. This median income level is 153.2 percent greater than the reported median for all households in the area. Hispanic headed households in Quay County, New Mexico , according to the 2000 census, had a median household income of $23,808, this income level is 18.3 percent less than the areas median income level for all households. Estimated since the year 2000, a medium-high number of individuals have migrated to Quay internationally. The migration from outside the US into Quay totals 0.2 percent of all immigration into New Mexico. This level of international migration can be considered medium-high when analyzed against the base population in the year 2005 and compared to other counties across the US.
