In Valencia County, jobs in the computer systems design and related services pay the highest wages

Income and Poverty in Valencia County, New Mexico

The median household income has increased a small amount from the 2000 values (inflation adjusted). The median income has increased to $40,379, posting a 1.2 percent growth. Higher Education in Valencia County, New Mexico

In Valencia County, New Mexico according the 2000 Decennial Census, 17 percent of the White Alone, 15.6 percent of Black or African American, 24.4 percent of the Asian alone and 9 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved a Bachelors Degree or Higher.

From 2000 to 2005, the percent of the male population that can be considered highly educated has increased by 1.2 percent. By the year 2005, 16.2 percent of the total male population, in the area, has obtained at least a Bachelors Degree. From 2000 to 2005, the percent of women with a Bachelors or Higher has increased by a total of 6.0 percent. By the year 2005, a total of 20.8 percent of the female population had achieved this level of education.

The U.S. Census Bureau, in the year 2005, estimated a median age in Valencia County, New Mexico to be 36.0 years old. The median in Valencia is less than the median in New Mexico of 36.2.
