Income and Poverty in Storey County, Nevada

Hispanic households in Storey County, Nevada recorded a median income of $60,413, this median is 13.5 percent greater than the areas median income level for all households. Storey County, Nevada has a moderately-educated population, with 18 percent of the population (+25) having received at least a Bachelors Degree, as reported in the Decennial Census of 2000. Storey counted a lower percent of population with this high education level than the State of Nevada's proportion of 18.2 percent and a lower percent than the national average of 24.4 percent.

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Storey County, Nevada, a high proportion of the male population in the area have reached the Some College or Associates Degree category, with 41 percent receiving this level of education. Demographic Profile for Storey County, Nevada

Storey County, Nevada had a population that was estimated at 4,074 for the year 2005. The total population has increased very sharply, since its 2000 population of 3,393. This growth denotes an increase of 20.1 percent. Storey ranks 8 of 17 counties when analyzing total population change in Nevada and the county ranks 1,277 of 3,141 counties when analyzing total county population change across the nation.

When calculating the total land area, Storey encompasses a total area of 263 total square miles. The area has a very low average population density of 15 persons per square mile.
