The Syracuse Metro Area: One-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Activities related to credit intermediation industry has lost the largest percent of jobs, losing 21.9 percent of the jobs from the 2nd quarter of 2005 to 2nd quarter of 2006. The losses of the area have declined faster than the industry has experienced in the State of New York, where the it saw a gain of 5.5 percent. The losses in the Activities related to credit intermediation industry in Syracuse outpaced the United States in terms of percentage decline of industry employment. Income and Poverty in Syracuse, NY

The poverty rate in the Syracuse, NY Metro has declined by 2.0 percent since the amount published in 2000, moving from 16.2 percent to 14.2 percent.
