Washington County One-Year Industry Employment Change

Income and Poverty in Washington County, New York

When put side-by-side with other counties (or parishes) throughout the United States, Washington County, New York may be understood as having a rate of poverty among the people, accounting a rate of 9.4 percent of the individuals existing in families with incomes under the poverty level in 1999. The Black or African American race/ethnicity population category, holds the highest rate of poverty with 49 percent of the 2000 population living in poverty.
