Erie County Industry Wages Lag Behind New York, and Wages Lag Behind the United States

Erie County Five-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Internet publishing and broadcasting industry has lost the largest amount of employment in terms of percentage, losing 75.7 percent of the jobs from the 2nd quarter of 2001 to 2nd quarter of 2006. The losses of the area have declined faster than the industry sector has felt in the State of New York, where the industry sector experienced a loss of 9.5 percent. The losses in the Internet publishing and broadcasting industry in Erie County outpaced the United States industry losses overall. During this period, the United States lost 24.1 in percent of workers in the Internet publishing and broadcasting industry.
