In Ontario County, jobs in the chemical merchant wholesalers pay the highest wages

Ontario County Wages have increased by 18.2% Since 2001

From the second quarter of 2001 to the second quarter of 2006, industry wages have increased in Ontario County, New York by a total of 18.2%. This is greater than the growth in average industry wages for New York and greater than the growth in average wages for the US.

Income and Poverty in Ontario County, New York

When compared to other counties (and parishes) throughout the United States, Ontario County accounted a relatively high median income for households of $52,157 (2005 Dollars). From 2000 to 2005, the percent of male population that is highly educated has increased by 4.4 percent.
