In Steuben County, jobs in the management of companies and enterprises pay the highest wages

Steuben County Wages have increased by 30.6% Since 2001

Steuben County Industry Wages Lag Behind New York, but Wages Exceed the United States

Income and Poverty in Steuben County, New York

Black or African American headed households had median income levels that were 10.2 percent greater than the total 2000 reported median, with a their median reported to be $45,727. The American Indian and Alaska Native householders in Steuben County reported an income level of $21,938, which was 47.2 percent less than the median income level in this area. Steuben County, New York had a population that was estimated at 98,632 for the year 2005. The total population has decreased, since the 2000 total population of 98,810. The decline represents a decrease of -0.2 percent.
