Demographic Profile for Clinton County, Ohio

In 2005, the Census Bureau estimated the median age in Clinton County, Ohio to be 36.0 years old. The median age in Clinton is less than the median in Ohio of 37.6. Since 2000, the area has experienced an increase in this median, when at that time it was 35.3 years of age. With a total of 24.7 percent of the population in 2005 being comprised of children and youth younger than 18, Clinton can be described as having a medium-high percent of people under 18. The 18 to 64 years old population group has a medium-high representation within the population, making up 63.2 percent of the population within the age category. People 65 years old and older make up 12.1 percent of the total population in the area. Compared to other counties in the US, this represents a medium-low proportion of the population.

Since 2000, a medium-low number of individual migrated to the Clinton from another country. The international migration into Clinton makes up 0.3 percent of the total migration into the State of Ohio. This percent of immigration can be considered medium-low when compared to international migration per 2005 population.

Clinton ranks 24 of 88 counties when calculating total change in population for Ohio and the county ranks 855 of 3,141 counties when calculating the total change in county population across the US.

Clinton County, Ohio has a population base that is comprised of 94.7 percent White, 2.4 percent African American, 0.6 percent Asian, and 1.3 percent Hispanic. The area can be described as having a very modest amount of racial and ethnic diversity, with 4.3 percent minorities. This is less than the State of Ohio percent of 15.5. Since 2000, Clinton has increased the level of diversity when 3.4 percent of the population were minorities.
