Higher Education in Huron County, Ohio

Huron County, Ohio is made up of a less-educated population, with 11 percent of the population over 25 years old having received at least a Bachelors Degree, according to the Decennial Census of 2000. Huron has a lower percent of the population with at least a Bachelors than the State of Ohio's proportion of 21 percent and a lower percent than the US proportion of 24.4 percent.

In 2000, the Census reported that in Huron County, Ohio, a high proportion of the male population in the area have reached the High School Diploma category, with 48.6 percent achieving this level. The female population in Huron on average have achieved a lower level of higher education (Bachelors or Higher) than the men in the area: 11 percent (Men) versus 10.8 percent (Women). A high proportion of the female population in the area has reached the High School Diploma category, with 48.8 percent of the areas female population attaining this level of education.

In Huron County, Ohio according to the Decennial Census of 2000, 11 percent of the White Alone, 7.6 percent of Black or African American, 28 percent of the Asian alone and 6.8 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved at least a Bachelors Degree.
