Income and Poverty in Union County, Ohio

Compared to counties across the United States, Union County accounted a relatively high median income for households of $60,539 (2005 Dollars). The income level is 20.8 percent higher than the median in Ohio of $47,919 and the median is 18.8 percent higher than the median in the US, which is $49,133.

It was reported in 2000 that the Asian headed households had median household incomes of $113,195. This income level is 87 percent greater than the all households reported median in the area. Hispanic households in Union County, Ohio , according to the 2000 census, had a median household income of $42,961, this income level is 29 percent less than reported value of the areas total household median income for all households. In Union County, Ohio White householders had a median income (2005 Dollars) of $60,580 according to the 2000 Dencennial Census, which was 0.1 percent greater than the median income in 2000. Black or African American householders reported household income levels that were 33 percent less than the total 2000 reported median, with a their median reported to be $40,585. The American Indian and Alaska Native householders in Union County had a median income of $8,653, this was 85.7 percent less than the median for all households.
