Clinton County Five-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Nondepository credit intermediation industry has seen the largest percentage drop in employment, losing 88.7 percent of the jobs from 2001 to 2006. These have declined faster than the industry has seen in the Ohio, where the industry reported a loss of 5 percent. The losses in the Nondepository credit intermediation industry in Clinton County outpaced the losses of nation as a whole in the industry. Employment for all industries has increased by 16 percent since the 2nd Quarter figures of 2005. This change is greater than growth in Ohio, which went through a gain of 0.4 percent since the 2nd Quarter of 2005. The gains were greater than than the gain seen for the United States of 2.0 percent.

In 2005, the Census Bureau estimated the median age in Clinton County, Ohio to be 36.0 years old. The median age in Clinton is less than the median in Ohio of 37.6.
