Employment for all industries has decreased by 0.1 percent from 2001 (2nd Quarter). These figures are less than growth in the State of Ohio, which saw a loss of -2.8 percent since 2001 ( 2nd Quarter). The losses the area experienced were greater than than the gain felt at the national level of 2.6 percent.

Income and Poverty in Licking County, Ohio

The poverty rate in Licking County, Ohio has increased by 4.2 percent since the amounts published in 2000, moving from 7.5 percent to 11.7 percent.

Higher Education in Licking County, Ohio

From 2000 to 2005, the percent of the male population that can be considered highly educated has increased by 1.6 percent. Demographic Profile for Licking County, Ohio

Licking County, Ohio has a population that is comprised of 94.6 percent White, 2.5 percent African American, 0.7 percent Asian, and 0.9 percent Hispanic. The area population base can be described as having a very modest level of diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, with 4.1 percent of the population made up of minorities. This is less than the State of Ohio percent of 15.5. Since 2000, Licking has increased the percent of minority makeup when 3.4 percent of the total population were minorities.

Licking County, Ohio had an estimated population of 154,806 in 2005. The estimated population has increased sharply, since the 2000 total population of 146,078.
