Demographic Profile for Okmulgee County, Oklahoma

In the year 2005, the population division of U.S. Census Bureau estimates the median age in Okmulgee County, Oklahoma to be 38.0 years old. The median in Okmulgee is greater than the median age in the State of Oklahoma of 36.5. From 2000, the area has seen an increase in the median age, when it was 36.9 years of age. With 24.4 percent of the population in 2005 being comprised of children and youth younger than 18, Okmulgee can be described as being made up of a medium-high proportion of youths. The 18 to 64 years old population group has a medium-low representation within the estimated 2005 area population, making up 60.7 percent of the population falling in this age category.
