Income and Poverty in Columbia County, Oregon

Compared to other counties (and parishes) throughout the nation, Columbia County was reported to have a relatively high median household income of $53,582 (Adjusted to 2005 Dollars). In Columbia County, Oregon as reported in the 2000 Census, 14 percent of the White Alone, 20 percent of Black or African American, 36.8 percent of the Asian alone and 11.2 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved at least a Bachelors Degree.

Columbia County, Oregon has a population that is made up of 92.3 percent White, 0.5 percent African American, 0.7 percent Asian, and 3.3 percent Hispanic. The population mix can be considered to have a very modest amount of racial and ethnic diversity, with 4.5 percent of the population being minorities. In Columbia County, Manufacturing, Retail Trade, and the Accommodation and food services sectors, in terms of total employment, are the largest.
