Income and Poverty in Delaware County, Pennsylvania

The rate of poverty in Delaware County, Pennsylvania has increased by 1.7 percent from the levels reported in the Decennial Census of 2000, moving from 8 percent to 9.7 percent.

While the median household income saw a decline since 2000 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, the Race/Ethnicity group that went through the most dramatic decline in median income was the Asian category. This category saw a decline of 21.8 percent from 2000 to 2005. The Hispanic Race/Ethnicity group has been least impacted by the median income decline in Delaware County, encountering a 12.1 percent increase in household income level, since the year 2005.
