In Bucks County, jobs in the power generation and supply pay the highest wages

Jobs in the power generation and supply industry reported the top wages in Bucks County for the 2nd quarter of 2006. The average worker in the industry in Bucks County received an annual wage of $163,481 in 2nd quarter of 2006. The pay is greater than the industry wage rate in Pennsylvania of $85,948 and greater than then the wage for jobs in this industry at the United States Level of $76,551.

Bucks County Five-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Unclassified industry has lost the largest percent of jobs, losing 97.9 percent from 2001 (2nd Quarter) to 2006 (2nd Quarter). These losses have declined faster than the industry sector has felt in the State of Pennsylvania, where the industry felt a loss of 88.9 percent. The losses in the Unclassified industry in Bucks County outpaced the losses of nation as a whole in the industry. Income and Poverty in Bucks County, Pennsylvania

Evaluated with other counties (or parishes) across the nation, Bucks County, Pennsylvania can be recognized as having a very low poverty rate amid the residents with a poverty rate of 4.5 percent with a family income under the 1999 poverty level. Higher Education in Bucks County, Pennsylvania

From the years 2000 to 2005, the proportion of the male population that could be considered highly educated has increased by 2.4 percent. By 2005, 37.4 percent of total male population (over 25), in this area, held at least a Bachelors Degree. At the same time, the percent of women (over 25) holding a BA or higher has increased by a total of 3.8 percent. By the year 2005, a total of 31.8 percent of the women in the population had received a Bachelors Degree or Higher.

Many of the women in the area have achieved the High School Diploma category, with 34.2 percent of the women population in the area achieving this level of education.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania had a population that was estimated at 621,342 in 2005. The total population has increased, since its 2000 population of 599,490. This growth signifies an increase of 3.6 percent. Bucks ranks 5 of 67 counties when calculating total change in population for Pennsylvania and the county ranks 152 of 3,141 counties in terms of population growth in the United States.

In the year 2005, the population division of U.S. Census Bureau estimates the median age in Bucks County, Pennsylvania to be 40.3 years of age. The median age in Bucks is greater than the median age in Pennsylvania of 39.7. From 2000, the area has seen an increase in the median, when the median age was 37.8 years of age. The area can be described as having a modest level of diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, with 9.4 percent minorities. This is less than the State of Pennsylvania percent of 16.4. Since 2000, Bucks has increased the percent of minority population when 7.9 percent of the population was made up of minorities.

Housing Report for Bucks County, Pennsylvania

The residential real estate values in Bucks County, Pennsylvania have increased sharply since their reported values in 2000. The values have increased by $122,600, or 75.1 percent, from their 2000 value of $163,200.

Management of companies and enterprises has seen the highest growth in employment from the years 2001-2005 in Bucks County, changing a total of 187 percent.
