Indiana County Five-Year Industry Employment Change

Employment for all industries has increased by 6.2 percent since the 2nd Quarter of 2001. This is greater than growth in Pennsylvania, which went through a gain of 0.5 percent since 2001 ( 2nd Quarter). The gains in the area were greater than than the gain reported at the US level of 2.6 percent.

Income and Poverty in Indiana County, Pennsylvania

Compared to counties across the United States, Indiana County was reported to have a medium-low household income of $35,373 (2005 Dollars). Demographic Profile for Indiana County, Pennsylvania

Indiana County, Pennsylvania has a population that is comprised of 96.2 percent White, 1.8 percent African American, 0.9 percent Asian, and 0.7 percent Hispanic. The population mix can be considered to have a very modest level of diversity, with 3.4 percent of minorities in the 2005 population base. This is less than the State of Pennsylvania percent of 16.4.
