Income and Poverty in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, a high proportion of the male population in the area have reached the High School Diploma category, with 40.2 percent obtaining this level of education. Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania has a population that is made of 95.8 percent White, 2.2 percent African American, 0.6 percent Asian, and 0.6 percent Hispanic. The area population base can be described as having a very modest level of racial and ethnic diversity, with 3.4 percent minorities. This is less than the State of Pennsylvania percent of 16.4.
