Higher Education in Charleston County, South Carolina

In Charleston County, South Carolina according to the Decennial Census of 2000, 40.2 percent of the White Alone, 10.8 percent of Black or African American, 42 percent of the Asian alone and 19 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved a Bachelors Degree or Higher.

Charleston County, South Carolina has a population that is comprised of 61.9 percent White, 32.4 percent African American, 1.3 percent Asian, and 3.1 percent Hispanic. The population mix can be considered to have a high level of racial and ethnic diversity, with 36.8 percent of minorities in the 2005 population base.
