Perkins County, South Dakota has a population that is made up of 96.8 percent White, 0.1 percent African American, 0.3 percent Asian, and 0.9 percent Hispanic. The area can be described as having a very modest level of diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, with 1.3 percent of minorities in the 2005 population base.
