Union County Five-Year Percentage Decline in Employment

The Computer systems design and related services industry has lost the largest percent of jobs, losing 81.6 percent from 2001 (Q2) to 2006 (Q2). The losses of the area have declined faster than the industry sector has gone through in the South Dakota, where the industry felt a loss of 11.3 percent. Income and Poverty in Union County, South Dakota

Hispanic headed households in Union County, South Dakota , as reported in 2000, had a median household income of $65,547, this median household income is 25.1 percent greater than reported value of the areas total household median income for all households. It was reported in 2000 that the Asian headed households had median household incomes of $87,944. This household income level is 67.8 percent greater than the reported median household income for all households in the area.
