Income and Poverty in Blount County, Tennessee

Since 2000, Blount has increased in the percent of the total population (+25) with a BA or Higher. The portion of this population has grown by 2.6 percent to a total of 20.6 percent in 2005. According to the American Community Survey, the proportion of the population in 2005 with a BA or Higher is less than the State of Tennessee percent of 21.8 and less than the US percent of 27.2.

In terms of total land area, Blount encompasses a total area of 559 square miles. The county has a medium-high average population density of 207 persons per square mile.
