Income and Poverty in Putnam County, Tennessee

As the median household income witnessed a decline in the last five year in Putnam County, Tennessee, the Race/Ethnicity group that went through the most dramatic decline in household income was the White category. This category saw a decline of 13.7 percent from 2000 to 2005. Putnam County, Tennessee had an estimated population of 66,580 in 2005. The estimated population has increased sharply, since the population in 2000 of 62,463. This growth signifies an increase of 6.6 percent. Putnam ranks 19 of 95 counties in terms of population growth in Tennessee and the county ranks 562 of 3,141 counties by growth in county population in the United States.
