Income and Poverty in Sullivan County, Tennessee

Higher Education in Sullivan County, Tennessee

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Sullivan County, Tennessee, a high proportion of the male population in the area have reached the High School Diploma category, with 31.8 percent reaching this education level. The female population in Sullivan have attainment on average a lower level of higher education (Bachelors or Higher) than men; 20.4 percent (Men) versus 16 percent (Women). In the year 2005, the population division of U.S. Census Bureau estimates the median age in Sullivan County, Tennessee to be 42.0 years of age. The median in Sullivan is greater than the median age in Tennessee of 37.3. Since the year 2000, the area has witnessed an increase in the median age, when it was 40.2 years old.
