Demographic Profile for Aransas County, Texas

Aransas County, Texas has a population that is comprised of 72.4 percent White, 1.8 percent African American, 2.5 percent Asian, and 21.7 percent Hispanic. This area can be considered to have a high level of diversity, with 26.0 percent minorities. This is less than the State of Texas percent of 49.5. Since 2000, Aransas has increased the percent of minority makeup when 24.6 percent of the population was made up of minorities.

Aransas County, Texas had a total estimated population of 24,640 in the year 2005. The population has increased sharply, since the 2000 total population of 22,537. This growth signifies an increase of 9.3 percent.
