Demographic Profile for Coke County, Texas

Coke County, Texas has a population that is made up of 77.9 percent White, 2.2 percent African American, 0.1 percent Asian, and 18.9 percent Hispanic. This area can be considered to have a high amount of racial and ethnic diversity, with 21.2 percent minorities. This is less than the State of Texas percent of 49.5. Since 2000, Coke has increased the level of diversity when 18.9 percent of the people were minorities.

Coke County, Texas had a total estimated population of 3,612 in 2005. The estimated population has decreased sharply, since its 2000 population of 3,855. The decline represents a decrease of -6.3 percent. Coke ranks 206 of 254 counties in terms of population growth in Texas and the county ranks 2,406 of 3,141 counties by growth in county population in the United States.
