Employment Report for Ector County, Texas -- Annual 2005 Industry Summary

Manufacturing between the years 2001 and 2005, saw the greatest loss in employment in Ector County. The industry was hit with a loss of 991 jobs, or 21.5 percent of employment in the sector. These losses made up 67 percent of all county employment losses since 2001.

In Ector County, Retail Trade, Accommodation and food services, and the Health care and social assistance industries are the largest employment industries. The Retail Trade produces the largest number of jobs in the area accounting for 15.1 percent of the total county employment. This totals 6,633 individuals. Educational services is the industry that has seen the largest increase in jobs from the year 2001 to the present in Ector County, increasing in size by 91.8 percent.
