The Texarkana metro area had an estimated population of 133,805 in 2005. The estimated population has increased, since the population in 2000 of 129,754. This growth signifies an increase of 3.1 percent. Texarkana ranks 20 of 25 MSAs when calculating total change in population for Texas and the metro area ranks 254 of 361 metro areas by growth in MSA population in the United States.

From 2000, a medium-low amount of people have migrated into the Texarkana metro area, with 426 people migrating in internationally.
