Income and Poverty in Borden County, Texas

Evaluated with other counties (or parishes) across the nation, Borden County, Texas can be recognized as having a medium-high rate of poverty among its population, accounting a rate of 14.0 percent of the population with family incomes below the 1999 poverty level. The White race/ethnicity population category, holds the highest rate of poverty with 14.3 percent of the people in 2000 living in poverty. The population that is aged 75 years and over have the largest percent of population in poverty in Borden County, having 24.2 percent of this age cohort living in poverty.
